The Craft Room's new challenge today is set by the delightful Debi and she has challenged us to either use "something new or a new technique", well I just could not decide! Please forgive my lack of commenting on Mervi's popular challenge but my dad has been unwell and has had a short stay in hospital, he is recovering now though
To go with this fab challenge we have an equally fab sponsor:- StampMan
I finally decided to use part of a new stamp, "Blazing Poppies" from Indigo Blu and use the homemade texture paste through a stencil, which I learnt from a recent workshop. If pennies are short this is fabulous and it uses what all us have crafters have: gesso, pva glue and talcum powder....2parts gesso and talc to one part pva! Smells lovely too lol :)
This did start out blue and lilac shades then pink/red and then the shades of brown you see, good job I had used old frame mountboard. I hope you can see the texture paste. The heart is corrugated cardboard.
The courage saying compliments the poppies I thought. Embossing was done in aged gold and more words along with twine swirled flowers were added.
I would like to enter the following challenge with my card:-
Country View Challenges - Quotations & Sayings
Hope you can join us for Debi's challenge - it should be a lot of fun so please visit us at the Craft Room. Suzanne x
