"Birds or Bugs" this week at Make My Monday!

The "things with wings" theme continues this week at Make My Monday and as this theme is mine for the month I would love to see your:-

Birds and/or Bugs this week!

My piece for the design team is a canvas which I have gessoed and then painted with a selection of acrylic paints.  I then added some texture by painting some bubble wrap with more acrylic paint and pressing to the canvas.
All images were stamped onto tissue paper - I got mine from a cheap card shop for 99p.  I used Timber Brown Stazon.  After waiting a little while I carefully cut and/or ripped around the images.

The next step is the delicate part.  I watered down some PVA glue and with a soft brush applied the PVA to the back of the stamped tissue paper.  I then placed it on the canvas gently and then applied more PVA over the top of the images.  The image will then magically soak into the canvas and the tissue paper will "fade".

Once the tissue paper is completely dry I then went back and added colour - I used watered down acrylic paint.  I then added an appropriate saying which I belended in using distress inks.

"The solitary bee whose buzzing was the only sound of life flew there a restless wing, seeking in vain the one blossom where to fix"

Stamps used:-
Stampotique Bee, Honeycomb and Shrooms
Elusive Images Foliage A4 plate

I am also entering this into the Stampotique Designers Challenge where the challenge is to use Red, Yellow and Orange in your creations.  The stamps I have used work really well with these colours.

I hope you enoy looking at my canvas - it is hanging in the Cubby Hole as part of the exhibition (this was a huge success).  I will be back later this week with more of my work and of course the winner of my blog candy (just trying to tie down one of my brood to help me with the random selection).  The other DT members of the Make My Monday have made some lovely pieces for this challenge so I hope you can join us.  Suzanne ~x~
