Childhood Memories....

The lovely MARIA is the hostess with the mostest over at the Craft Room  this fortnight and she has chosen the delightful theme of:-

"Childhood Memories"

We are sponsored by Tando Creative who will donate a prize to the lucky random winner and there will be an unenviable task of selecting a top 3......for MARIA!

I decided to go with a scrapbook page for my DT offering .... the "memories" are not my own but my mum's.  She is on the left on this picture and I believe it was 1956.  I decided on this photo to depict "days out" as the days out we have as children always hold special places in our hearts as adults....do you remember how exciting it was to go out for a trip.  Nowadays people go out all the time!

The layout has been created on a 12x12 piece of K&Co "Blue Awning" paper - my pad is now almost finished sob!

The bird cage is a Kaisercraft stamp and the two birds are from a Woodware set of stamps.  I added micro beads to the bird cage and a chipboard tag which I covered in the new gorgeous Marianne Design tissue tape - there are lots of designs and these are very reasonably priced compared to other "tissue tapes".

The flowers and script (Judikins - "Carol's Cube" Daisy and Hero Arts French Script) have been stamped onto vellum and coloured from the reverse with markers and micro beads added to the daisies.....
The flourishes are Fancy Pants stamps and the sentiment is from a Hero Arts plate (I think?).

I hope you can join in with us at the Craft Room this fortnight - I would like to enter the following challenges with my layout:-

Miss you girls - hope I am okay linking up!  The inspiration from the DT is outstanding!!

A beautiful challenge blog!

Hi Suzanne, first of all so sorry for the delay in commenting, the wedding plans are now taking over, only 5 days off now!!!!!! I adore your scrapbook page, so delicate and pretty, and as always you manage to give your art a beautiful vintage theme. Hope you are now feeling better, it must have been horrid to feel like you have. Julia xxxx
