Buttons & Bows @ the Craft Room

Hello ....a great new challenge over at the Craft Room challenge blog and this fortnight it is the turn of my DT friend, Debi to provide the theme and a great theme it is too......................:-

"Buttons & Bows"

and to go with this challenge we are again kindly sponsored by

My contribution to the design team this fortnight is an altered 12x12 canvas (which I made for the Cubby Hole, Crewe exhibition). After gessoing I covered it in tissue paper leaving lots of ridges and bumps.  When dry I painted with "Burnt Sienna" and stamped my images (my gorgeous new stamps from Marianne Design CS 0857 & CS 0860 - right up my street!) onto more tissue paper.

I have also used stamps from the Creative Expressions vintage sewing plate, and various embellishments.  My fabric flowers were cut from calico cotton by using Marianne-Design English Roses LR0162 and Ribbon-Flower-3-LR0110 - I love how they have frayed.  My Scissors also Marianne Design (LR0194) were cut using copper metal and then aged with black Stazon ink.

My heart of buttons was inspired by a shopping bag I recently purchased whilst on holiday in York from an intriguing shop called Duttons for Buttons....Lace was added to the three focal buttons!  My bows are little more discreet but they are stamped and can be found on the dress and and placed near the flowers.

Please play along with this great challenge at the Craft Room and in the meantime I would like to enter my 12x12 canvas into the following challenges:-

Come & Get It Challenges - "Bingo"
I have used the diagonal row of "buttons, free and flowers"

CupCake Craft Room - "lots of layers"

Phindy's Place Challenge - "Buttons"

Thank you..........have a good day!  Suzanne ~x~
