Hello - well there were lots and lots of entries for the "ink it up" the Craft Room's last challenge - ....is going to have a difficult job selecting her top 3. This fortnight's challenge is set by my fellow design team member ...Esther and she asked us to:-
We have a great sponsor again so there is a great prize. Stamp Addicts
A few weeks ago I ran a workshop at the Cubby Hole where Nigel provided us with a number of fantastic stationery boxes. They were really sturdy with a magnetic opening. They were also the perfect size to hold distress ink pads and the Aidornack inks pads (these pictures will be blogged at a later date). The emphasis of the workshop was altering chipboard etc - I started out as a scrapbooker and as such have a large amount of chipboard pieces. I used a combination of dry and heat embossing to decorate my boxes. Each person who attended the workshop left with 3 altered storage boxes.
I ran some of the elements through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder, followed by a coat of acrylic paint and then overstamped with Versamark before embossing with gold embossing powder. The box was covered with some beautiful 7 Gypsies paper which I too dry embossed in places (Swiss Dots and Harlequin). Some of these sections were then swiped over with Versamark and then heat embossed with a mixture of gold and claret embossing papers. This I hope added further interest and texture to the patterned paper.

I do have other samples of the boxes that I made for the workshop and even though these are examples of embossing I won't overload you now with these.
I hope you get chance to visit us all at the Craft Room Challenge and check out my fellow DT friends wonderful craft!
I would like to enter my altered storage box into the following challenges:-
