Craft Room New Challenge - "Fabric"

The Craft Room has a new challenge starting today and I must say I loved making my design team example for this brief - thank you Maria for a great theme:-

Use some Fabric

We have another great sponsor this month and as they are fast becoming one of my fave stamp brands I had difficulty in selecting which one of my Indigo Blu stamp sets to use.  I opted for Alice I.

Inspired by both an article in an old Craft Stamper and a piece my friend Christine Costello created I decided to work with an embroidery ring and some calico cotton.  I stamped an Elusive Image (now Chocolate Baroque) foliage stamp all over the calico in Stream Airondnack ink.

The text is from an Alice in Wonderful book - which I coloured using distress inks; Faded Jeans and Mustard Seed before pleating and then hand stitching.

All images have been stamped in Versafine black ink and coloured with pencils. The daisy stamp is an old Hampton Art stamp.  I went for a blue and yellow theme due to Alice's dress and the white rabbit's outfit in the book.

More hand stitching to the calico and embroidery thread added to the speckled buttons.
The white rabbit's pocket watch has been coated with glossy accents for depth.

I ruffled lace to the inside hoop and added pearls and wire to the outer hoop.

Please check out my fellow Design Team buddies fabric pieces over at the Craft Room - they are wonderful!  I am entering my embroidery ring into the following challenges:-

Top Row - Flowers, anything but a square card & buttons

My fabric background is stamped with a floral stamp and then I have added stamped flowers.

My cream lace has been ruffled around the embroidery hoop.

Brenda - this is special for me as I had such a fab time creating it and also used my three special buttons I picked up from an haberdashery stall on the local market - last 3 she had!

Thank you for looking!   Suzanne ~x~

Oh Suzanne this is a treasure indeed, such a beautiful creation and those buttons look fabulous. Using the fabric and embroidery ring gives this a very different feel to it and I love Indigo Blu stamps too. Thanks for taking the time to link it to Tuesday Treasures, what a great sample to share.
Have a great day.
