365/2011 Challenge

During 2010 Kate  at the Kathryn Wheel ran a challenge over the 12 months to create a double journal page for each month with an entry for each day.  I enjoyed looking at the various blogs when I got a minute and decided that if the challenge was happening again this year I would give it a go and join in.  Here is my first double page spread in a new A5 journal.  I will endeavour to fill each square with a little snippet of my days.

I think I will post at the begining of each month just in case my words turn out to be a little private.  I painted my pages with gesso and then used a selection of blue distress inks, for both the background and stampwork.  The squares are a mixture of white card and patterned paper which have been sprayed with Sticky Fingers ink.

Good luck, I struggled to do a single month, but I doubt if you'll have that problem.

Your January page turned out fantastic! I like the soft colors and I like the random dotted lines here and there... nice work!
I just finished my Jan tonight but I have to wait until tomorrow for the sun to come out to take a decent picture, such an exciting challenge for the year! Good luck with yours, I'm sure I'll see you again over the next 12 months!

Looks like you are off to a good start, thanks for your comments on my page. I have sn A4 spiral bound Pink Pig sketch book, I love their board covers and robust paper which can take a real beating! Best of luc with the calendar. You can alwaus censor your filled in pages with a bit of tissue or blur them using a phot graph editing program. 'Picasa' is a free down load program from Google which I use to create a collage from the two scanned pages I do every month.
Best of luck with you journaling - you're in for fun!
