Something a bit different...

...from me!  My beloved dad is 70 today and we are celebrating with a family meal tomorrow.  Bethany my niece loves the Cake Boss on the Real channel and wanted to buy such a cake.  Anyway not living in Boston, USA (I think) and not being millionaires we did the next best thing.  Now for the honesty - being busy working mothers (my sister and I) purchased the cake from Asda and then decorated. 

We also have circles on wire to put into the cake so it looks as though they are exploding from the cake, once it reaches the restaurant.

Heavens know what my kitchen would have looked like if we had made the cake from scratch.  Good job both my sister and I are married to ex-chefs, domestic goddesses we are not!

I am so pleased to have made the Fab 4 in last week's Play Date Cafe.  I am going to try my best to play along again this week, such good fun!
